Fenerbahce have placed a bid for Stade Rennais and Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan.
The former Udinese forward has also recently attracted the interest of Liverpool, with the club believing he could be the perfect replacement for World Cup winner Fernando Torres if the Spaniard decides to end his spell at Anfield.
Fener have placed a bid of €12 million for the 24-year-old who has notched 22 goals in 44 international games. Rennes themselves paid €8m just two years ago and the Ghana forward has two more years left on his contract.
Gyan played for Ghana during the World Cup, missing the penalty literally handed to Ghana by Luis Suarez which would have booked them a semi-final place.
A report from L’Equipe would seem to confirm Fenerbahce’s interest in the striker, though it also suggests les Rouge et Blanc are not prepared to accept a bid of €12m.
Instead, the Breton club are to hold out for a bid of €20m for the Ghanaian forward. The player is still on holiday, but it is anticipated that he would prefer a move to the Premier League.
