Norwegian side Rosenborg BK will be without influential Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan for today’s Uefa Champions League play-off qualifier return leg against FC Copenhagan due to yellow card accumulation.
Italian referee Gianluca Rocchi booked Annan on the 72nd for a rough challenge on Thomas Kristensen and will miss the second leg on 25 August after going into the game with a yellow card.
The 23-year-old excelled in a 2-1 win over the Danish side at the Lerkendal Stadium on Tuesday night.
Annan’s 57th minute effort came off midfielder Markus Henriksen to beat Johan Wiland in the Copenhegan goal for the doubler after Steffen Iversen had opened the scoring on the 23rd minute.
Rosenborg wasted a couple of scoring chances and will go into the second leg with faint hopes.
Annan was shown a straight red card in last Saturday’s NM Cup quarter final game 4-3 win over IK Start.
