List of scorers:

  • Ahmed Touré 6
  • Nathaniel Asamoah 5
  • Michael Akuffo 2
  •  Daniel Nii Adjei 1
  • Michael Anaba 1
  • Iddrisu Nafiu 1
  •  Fatau Mohammed 1

Players like hard-working midfielder Michael Akuffo (26), striker Nathaniel Asamoah (21), strong centre-back Mohammed Awal (23), left-back Abdul Rahman Baba, right-back Yaw Frimpong (25) and central midfielder Mohammed Yahaya (23) have all been instrumental in Kotoko’s mid-season success.

Henry Ohene Brenya (26) is somewhat of a unsong hero. Brenya, a intelligent central defender, has been ever-present so far this season.Kotoko’s interim captain married his long-time girlfriend Elizabeth in Kumasi on Christmas Day. Brenya who is also a royal of the Ashanti Kingdom was adjudged a lucky charm for the Kotoko team during pre-season games where he captained the side to win important matches .The players thus resolved to maintain the defender as their captain.

David Ofei has had a good season as compared to previous ones. Ofei was out in the cold last season but has battled his way into the first team, playing all, but two games.Just like his brother,Kofi Nti Boakye was a high-profile signing before the season but the striker has only played three matches so far. Frank Boateng ,Amos Frimpong, striker Iddrisu Nafiu (and defender Mohammed Sabato  have all struggled this season. Sabato has still not kicked a ball all season.Shocking!

It seems likely that star player Ahmed Touré (24) will leave Kotoko during the mid-season transfer window.

Eric Addo set to join PSV’s feeder club (FC Eindhoven) on a free transfer.

Eric Addo has been ever-present in Dutch football since 1999. After so many years at PSV, he went to Roda JC after his services were no longer needed. His time at Roda was not so successful.Addo has been clubless for the past eight months .After searching for eight months he pops up again, where else could it be? The Netherlands of course. FC Eindhoven (PSV’s feeder club) are hoping to resurrect Addo’s career and benefit from his wealth of experience .

Addo is currently training in Turkey with FC Eindhoven. FC Eindhoven Coach Ernest Faber and his technical staff are monitoring the Ghanaian. Addo was given the chance to prove himself in a friendly game against Turkish side Kartalspor (3-3) Addo will be a great addition to the side as key defender Jelle De Bock is still injured.

Addo will know his fate on Monday.Let’s all pray for him.

List of scorers:

  • Godfred Saka 4
  • Emmanuel Allan 1
  • Samuel Asiedu 1
  • Daniel Gozar 1

Eight goals in 12 matches is not impressive (conceding 6 goals in the process).Aduana has relied on its defenders for most of the goals. The strikers have been misfiring all season. Talented Richard Arhin ,a product of the Red Bull Academy often played  as a lone striker, is still is chasing his first goal of the season. The top scorer and most impressive player of the team is arguably right-back Godfred Saka ,a modern full-back with a wonderful right-foot. Saka is the top scorer of the team, primarily because of his expertise from set-pieces.

The side still relies on players like Johnson Adomah , Emmanuel Akuoko ,Samuel Asiedu and hard working midfielder Anthony Tawiah. Defensive midfielder Ebenezer Otu Tetteh also  looks promising.

Aduana are currently 8th in the league and this year will be the right time for the team to improve upon last year’s performance.
